Portocityguide.com follows a straightforward Code of Ethics: We don’t endorse things we don’t like. So if you can find it here (and it is not listed as a tourist trap), it’s because we liked it and think you will too.
Our editors are responsible for all the content, which means there is never any pay-to-play in portocityguide.com. Our praise for something good is free of charge, and so are our rants about something bad.
We are partly remunerated through advertising on the site. Ads, however, do not affect editorial content. Most ads are served by Google, Yahoo!, Linkshare, Commission Junction, or others. Ad content is generated by these companies, often on the basis of searches they perform on our content. Still, portocityguide.com never recommends a company because of an affiliate relationship. Our Privacy Policy is pretty simple too: Portocityguide.com does not keep any information about visitors who browse to the site. The only information we may keep is the e-mail we receive. Tips, comments, or opinions e-mailed to us may be published. If you do not wish to have your comments publicized, you are welcome to indicate that you wish your comments to be kept private. We respect all such requests. Though we are not journalists, we adopt a journalistic policy regarding sources: if confidentiality is requested, it is respected as far as legally permissible.
