Portocityguide.com aims at being the primary English-language online source of information on Porto, Northern Portugal, and the Douro wine country, where Port wine is produced.

This project was triggered by the absence of comprehensive, selective, reliable, and independent online information on what Porto has to offer — precisely what we strive to provide. Out team of dyed-in-the-wool portistas (those born and raised in Porto) shares two goals:

  1. To showcase the best that Porto has to offer, enabling potential visitors to make an informed decision about whether Porto is an adequate destination for them.
  2. To supply those who decide to visit Porto with the tools necessary to make the most of their experience.

We believe Porto is a great destination. It has a variety of attractions — Port wine, religious architecture, excellent restaurants, medieval neighborhoods, stunning river- and sea-fronts, etc. — which will please a wide range of publics, from art & architecture buffs to club-going hipsters, not to mention wine & food lovers. Porto is also difficult to match in terms of value.

Whether you’re going there on a business trip and want to find out how to spend the little available time you’ll have or you’re considering relocating there for months to work on your next book, Porto has a lot to give and costs little when compared with other European cities.

Just follow our suggestions!
